BREMER STORE

WITH A NEW RETAIL CONCEPT

A FORMER BANK BECOMES A NEW MANUFACTUM STORE

Manufactum opened its ninth department store nationwide with its connected brot & butter store at the heart of Bremen’s old town. Schwitzke & Partner developed a new retail concept for the “der guten Dinge” department store chain. Its location is the Bremer Bank building – which is under preservation order – at Domshof, whose layout has been largely preserved. Its unmistakable character and historic charm are impressive. High ceilings and pillars, dark wall paneling, a colorful glass

ceiling panel and wooden and marble floor provide the backdrop for the new store concept.

A cube-shaped, modular furniture system now optimizes merchandise presentation and uses the space in the light-flooded hall: Walls up to six meters high are half-way loaded with products – from office supplies to clothing, furniture, household goods and care products. In addition, there is a brot&butter store with traditional groceries and an in-house bakery with bistro.
